Probability of metachronous peritoneal carcinomatosis from colon cancer - Evidencio
Probability of metachronous peritoneal carcinomatosis from colon cancer
This model combines common clinicopathological prognostic factors to quantify the individual risk of peritoneal recurrence after resection of non-metastatic stage I-III colon cancer. The ability to identify high risk patients may allow a better selection of patients for a planned second-look surgery.

Conditional information

Model performance:
The cross-validated concordance indexes for the colon cancer risk score model was 80%. The calibration plot showed good agreement between predicted and observed probabilities.
The high risk quartile had a considerably higher risk of peritoneal recurrence than the three lower risk quartiles.

Note: An up-date of this model is available at the website of the Karolinska Institute. The up-date contains additional variables (e.g. mucinous tumor type) that are not described in the original research paper. http://www.imm.ki.se/biostatistics/calculators/pcrisk/
